OSHA and Infection Control
Annual OSHA training is essential for dental hygienists to ensure a safe and compliant workplace for both patients and staff. This training reviews all required Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards relevant to dental settings, including, but not limited to the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030), which outlines procedures for preventing exposure to infectious materials; the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), which ensures proper labeling, handling, and communication of hazardous chemicals; and the Ionizing Radiation Standard (29 CFR 1910.1096), which provides safety measures for those working with dental radiography. Additional topics include infection control, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency preparedness, and recordkeeping requirements. By completing this OSHA annual training, dental hygienists maintain regulatory compliance and promote a culture of health and safety within the dental practice.
Suicide Prevention Training

With depression and suicidal behaviors on the rise, learning how to recognize signs of a suicide crisis using a method known as QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) may help save a life.
Just as CPR is a "chain of survival", QPR could also save lives. CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and is an emergency medical intervention. QPR, stands for Question, Persuade, Refer, is a mental health intervention. Learn how you can increase the chance of survival in a crisis situation.
