Required osha training

Annual OSHA training is essential for dental hygienists to ensure a safe and compliant workplace for both patients and staff. This training reviews all required Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards relevant to dental settings, including, but not limited to the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030), which outlines procedures for preventing exposure to infectious materials; the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), which ensures proper labeling, handling, and communication of hazardous chemicals; and the Ionizing Radiation Standard (29 CFR 1910.1096), which provides safety measures for those working with dental radiography. Additional topics include infection control, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency preparedness, and recordkeeping requirements. By completing this OSHA annual training, dental hygienists maintain regulatory compliance and promote a culture of health and safety within the dental practice.
